Roast beef with mushroom gravy

Ingredients

Chuck roast

1 pkg. Lipton French onion soup (dry)

2 or 3 cans Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup

 

Minute Rice

Follow instructions on box.

 

Make your favorite salad

Don’t forget hot bread

 

Mississippi Mud Cake

 

Ingredients:

2 c. sugar

1 ½ c. flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 c. shortening

4 whole eggs

1/3 c. cocoa

3 tsp. vanilla

1 c. nuts (pecans or walnuts)

½ pkg. small miniature marshmallows or 1 jar marshmallow cream

cool cake completely before icing

 

 

Instructions:

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat by hand.

Mix flour, cocoa, and salt, add to above mixture.

Mix in vanilla and nuts.

Pour into greased and floured cake pan

Bake 35 min. at 300 degrees.

Take out of oven and pour on marshmallows.

Put bake in oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

 

Icing Ingredients:

1 ½ sticks melted margarine or butter

1/3 c. cocoa

1 box powdered sugar

½ c. canned evaporated milk

1 tsp. vanilla

1 c. chopped nuts

 

Combine powdered sugar and cocoa. Mix well

Add melted margarine or butter

Add canned milk vanilla and nuts. Mix well

Spread over cake
